Der 4pin auf 3pin Spannungs-Adapter stellt am 3pin Molex Lüfteranschluss je nach Ausführung 5V oder 7V anstelle von 12V (wie normal) zur Verfügung. So können z.B. Gehäusefans mit dieser reduzierten Spannung betrieben werden, was zu einer deutlichen Geräuschreduzierung führt. Der HDD Stromanschluss wird durchgeschliffen und steht weiterhin zur Verfügung.
